About Ukraine Take Shelter
What is Ukraine Take Shelter?
UkraineTakeShelter.com is an independent platform helping to connect Ukrainian refugees with potential hosts and housing.
This website is a public bulletin. We encourage everyone with spare space to post a listing and to mark their listing as filled once they have successfully taken in refugees.
What securities do we provide?
For refugees and hosts, we require identity verification either through government issued ID card or passport.
We use Stripe Identity Verification to accomplish this. To view contact information on listings, identity verification is required. We allow users to report listings that may be malicious. Once a listing has been reported, our team of volunteers review every report manually and take action.
Who developed this website?
UkraineTakeShelter.com was created by Harvard students Avi Schiffmann and Marco Burstein, and further developed with Irish software engineer Daniel Conlon.

What information do you need?
For refugees, UkraineTakeShelter.com asks for your nearest city to display the closest listings. We do not track your precise location.
We provide refugees with a guide of some safety notes for contacting hosts. Refugees are ultimately responsible for their own safety.
